I Got One Thing Off the Bucket List.

“All you need is the plan, the road map, and the courage to press on to your destination.”

Earl Nightingale

That quote sums up my journey of making my short film. The time that I spent writing the script and working with different people to build this film has been incredible. The long hours of sitting in front of my computer and editing have finally come to an end. It feels like a big weight has come off my shoulder and it’s not really a bad thing. It’s just that this has been a big part of my life and to see it all done is just amazing.

The process has been an interesting one. It didn’t take me long to write the short film, it only took about a day. I just remember typing it out, with nothing slowing me down. It was a three day film shoot that was done at night into the wee hours of the morning. I will admit that I was only there for one of the days. Hey, I’m a writer. The actors and the crew manage to fight off the cold, to build such a great product. I couldn’t be more proud of them.

Now, the new challenge begins. What we want to do is get this in the festival circuit, which I never did before. I’m sure it’s the luck of the draw, but we are up for the task. At least I mark off something on the bucket list.

Here is the Trailer.

Music is that guiding light that helps me get through my work. Even when I’m feeling stressed, a tune can calm my soul and help me power through any projects that I have to do. What I have been doing of late is going through my musical archive, to find artists that will get me pump when I work.  While going back through time, I did stumble upon one artist that I didn’t even know that I had. The artist is Uffie. I know that some of you are wondering, who the heck is an Uffie? Don’t worry, I will explain who this artist is.

Uffie is an artist who released her debut album Sex, Dreams and Denim Jeans in 2010. The album style was a mixture of synthpop, electro and rap. Mix that all together and it took me in. I really can’t explain why I find the album entertaining, maybe because it’s bubbly and fun.  Also, I’m a huge sucker for synthpop. All I can say is that the album has helped me get through one of my projects. Back in the day, if I were to tell my friends that I like this, I’m sure they would have raised an eyebrow at me and say What the hell is wrong with you?

I’m glad that I reintroduce myself to Uffie. I really do like her music. It did make me wonder what happen to her. Searching online, I found out that she is working on a new album. I hope that it is as fun as the first album.  So give her a shot and see if she swept you in just like me.

Here is a quick bio about her. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uffie

Thanks a lot Lara Croft!

Just played this game again and I still love it!

Corky Bloom Studio

Tomb Raider, the game that has taken over my life right now. The past two weeks I have been slacking a bit because of this game. The thing about the latest Tomb Raider game is that it’s fun as hell to play, and it’s dragging me along for the ride. Microsoft thought it would be a good idea to give this game away for free on X-box live. They didn’t care that I have a wife that I love so much or a cat that needed to be fed and cuddle. Microsoft wanted to throw me into the adventure with Lara Croft as we discover the secret of the island of Yamatai. The best part is that I love it.

I don’t need to review this game because there are my reviews for the latest Tomb Raider game. Most of them are positive reviews and I can see why. Unfortunately…

The Caustics Effect for After Effects

Recently, I was trying to make an intro video with a watery effect. When I was doing research on how to do this effect in After Effect, I stumble onto this video. I actually found it very helpful for what I was doing. I know that accent of the person can be distracting, but it is a really good tutorial. If you are looking to do the caustic effect, check it out.

Yes, it’s called Durarara!!

I’m a big sucker of watching cartoons. From the days of being that little kid who sat in front of the television watching Saturday morning cartoons. To the present as the adult who sits in front of the television watching cartoons everyday of the week. For awhile, I haven’t had cable. My source of cartoons came from streaming sites and Netflix. With so much out there, I can’t complain at all. Recently, I have been watching some of anime. I’m a big fan of it. When you watch a show like Attack on Titan, how can you not be a fan of anime. I know, of course, there are a lot of bad ones out there, but that is not what I want to talk about. One show that has gotten my attention is Durarara!! Try saying that five times.

I know that I’m a little late to the party with this show. Trust me, I’m fine with that. It just gives me more episodes to watch. What I really like about this show is the story.  The story is about a group of people who lives all intersect with one another. There are criminal gangs and supernatural elements to it, which gives uniqueness to the show. What really connects the characters to each other is the dark rider. The dark rider is a Dullahan named Celty Sturluson who came to Japan to find her missing head. It sounds bizarre, but don’t let that stop you from watching it.

The appeal of the show is the characters. These characters live such unusual lives. The all have agendas that happen to affect the people around them.  This could have been a disaster trying to make this concept, which could have lead to a confusing story. Instead, it is easy to follow and engaging .

I know that season two of Durarara 2 has started. I haven’t started watching them yet. I want to wait until  there are couple more episodes. What I will say about the show is I highly recommend watching it, if you are looking for something with intrigue. Now, that I caught up with most of the episodes, I have started to watch Fairy Tale. It seems that I found another winner.

Here is a good source to learn more about Durarara!! Durarara Wiki

You can watch Durarara 1 and 2 on Hulu and Netflix
